Earlier this week, discussions came after rumors spread that the Mi 11 light had been turned off from Xiaomi. Xiaomi ultimately denies all, confirming that the Mi 11 Lite 4G will continue to be sold in India. Now, there is new information in a Mi 11 Lite variant that is apparently heading towards India. It is expected to be called Mi 11 Lite NE, it is a 5G variant of Mi 11 Lite.
The global version of Mi 11 Lite 5G has Snapdragon 780G. This leak, however, mentions that Xiaomi is relying on Snapdragon 778G for Mi 11 Lite NE. No reason is mentioned here but it seems to have something to do with the global shortage of Snapdragon 780G chips. Note that the Mi 11 Lite 4G uses the Snapdragon 720G chip, which worked impressively in our review.
Is Mi 11 Lite NE a 5G variant for India?
This Leakage There seems to be meat from Kacper Skrzypek but for the information that is not verified, it is better to wait for the official announcement from Xiaomi. The Mi 11 Lite 5G is currently the only 5G variant being sold in the global market.
On the other hand, the concept of Mi 11 Lite NE is understandable for a price-sensitive market like India, which demands more banks for deer. The Snapdragon 778G is not as expensive as the Snapdragon 780G. This could directly translate Xiaomi to lower price targets, allowing it to be a reasonable upgrade over the 4G variant.
Xiaomi currently has a wide gap between the Mi 11 Lite 4G and the Mi 11X in India, where something like the Mi 11 Lite NE could fit perfectly. What remains to be seen is whether Xiaomi retains the rest of the specs and features from the regular 5G variant. The current 5G version offers improved durability and a better front camera.
Currently, it is the Mi 10i 5G which is the most affordable 5G smartphone in the country. The Mi 10i relies on the Snapdragon 750G chip and is sold at a lower price than the Mi 11 Lite. It has a 108-megapixel main camera and a 120Hz refresh rate IPS LCD display.
