Xiaomi has announced that it will gift all Indian athletes who won a medal at the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics 2020 with its flagship Mi 11 Ultra smartphone. Shaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain announced the news via Twitter.

During the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Indian participants performed very well, resulting in the country winning a total of seven medals, the highest ever surpassing six medals at the 2012 Olympics. The performance was led by javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra who won India’s first gold in athletics in the history of the Olympic Games.
To recall, India has won a total of 10 gold medals at the Olympics so far, with the men’s hockey team claiming eight of them. Abhinav Bindra and Neeraj Chopra are the only people to have won medals for the country.
Apart from Chopra, Mirabai Chanu, Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Lovelina Borgohain, PV Sindhu and Bajrang Punia were other medalists in international sports competitions.

Jain further confirmed that everyone in the Indian men’s hockey team will get a Mi 11X smartphone as they have won a bronze medal in the Games.
In addition to Xiaomi, the Indian government has announced awards for the best athletes at the Summer Olympics Tokyo 2020 along with various state governments.
