Xbox wants to host E3-like gaming event in June 2022: Report

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has announced that its E3 2022 event will be an online exclusive event. Several major companies have already pulled out of the event in recent years, and now Microsoft is pulling out too and is planning its own E3-style showcase later this year.

According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, Microsoft will host an E3 style event sometime in June. He also said that the show’s organizers are in talks with publishers to make appearances and presentations. As of now, not much information has been given about the upcoming event.

Grubb also said that it will have more information on this soon, and that the company is planning other standalone events in May and/or September.

“They’re talking to partners to get the big game out there. It’s going on now and it’s March, so it’s not like they can change that train or turn that big ship. They’re going in that direction.” moving forward and they’re going to do something in that time frame,” Grubb said.

While the company is planning its big showcase, it is partnering with Twitch to hold its ID@Xbox event later this month, where it will showcase several indie games coming to the platform (Xbox, PC and Game Pass). The game will perform. The live stream will be conducted on March 16 at 10:30 PM IST.

In other news, dataminer Tero Alhonen mined details on a new Xbox product called “Keystone” earlier this month. Alhonen emphasizes the fact that a “keystone” is a product and not an event or game. Most importantly, “Keystone” is listed directly after the two codenames we’ve given to Xbox consoles: Durango (Xbox One) and Scarlett (Xbox Series X).
