Last month, Microsoft released Windows 365, a cloud-based PC service primarily for enterprise users. The service is now live for the general public and available in different configurations at different prices. Prices for the base configuration start at Rs 1,555 and go up to Rs 12,295 per month. The service is available in two configurations: Windows 365 Business and Windows 265 Enterprise.
In India, the base plan comes at Rs 1,555 per month which offers a configuration with a single virtual core processor, 2GB RAM and 64GB storage. Those looking for more can opt for the Rs 2,180 per month plan which offers two virtual cores and 4GB of RAM. The top-end plan with Windows Hybrid Benefit is priced at Rs 12,295 which offers eight virtual cores, 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Note that this is for those who already have a Windows license.
Windows 365 goes live for everyone
“Just as applications were brought to the cloud through SAS, we are now bringing the operating system to the cloud, providing companies with more flexibility and a safer way to make their workforce more productive and connected, regardless of location,” said Satya Nadela, chairman and CEO of Microsoft. Said at the ‘Inspiration 2021’ event.
“Windows 365 provides an instant boot experience. You can choose from wherever you put it, as Wanggui McClevy, General Manager of Microsoft 55, quotes Wanggui McClevy. The same apps, tools, data and ‘settings’ will be able to stream from Android devices, Mac, iPad, etc.
“With instant boot to their personal cloud PC, users can stream all their applications, tools, data and settings from the cloud across any device. Windows 365 provides a complete PC experience in the cloud. Cloud processing provides versatility in power and storage. Enables them to scale up or down based on their needs. With a choice of Windows 10 or Windows 11, “the company noted.
Jared Spataro, corporate vice president of Microsoft 55, said Cloud PC is an exciting, new division of hybrid personal computing that transforms the personalized, productive and secure digital workplace.
