Elon Musk has ambitions, the ultimate person is settling humans on Mars. Although it’s been a while, Musk’s Tesla has now turned its attention to humanoid robots. Yes, that’s exactly what you’ve seen in countless sci-fi Hollywood movies. It even got a name: Tesla Bot. It also gives a glimpse of what Tesla looks like.
Yes, we are not talking about the dancer showing her moves in Tesla bot costume. That was just Elon Musk.
In the teaser video, watching Tesla bots and walking like humans, complete the movement of the buttocks with our species. The body below the shoulders is all white and the head and neck are painted black. As it approaches the camera it shows its face, which is basically a blank screen that is not as characteristic as the face. Musk says there will be a display to show people useful information.
Tesla bot teased
If you’re wondering what the purpose behind the Tesla bot is, Musk promises to present it as a solution to our laziness. He described it as “a general purpose, bi-paddle, humanoid robot that is unsafe, repetitive or annoying.”
In a way, it could ideally be a robot slave that was the idea of mankind in the first 20 sci-fi movies.M Century Tesla will use all of its learning from the AI team and place it here. At the moment, it looks like Tesla wants to get it closer to the human form factor.
The robot will be 5.8 feet (1.8 m) tall and weigh 125 pounds (57 kg), Musk said at the ceremony. Walking speed will be somewhere around 5mph (8 kmph). You can carry it weighing 45 pounds (20 kg).
Looking at the state of robotics in 2021, all this seems very ambitious. Boston Dynamics is still trying to get its robot down a barrier with less programming. It looks like Tesla is promising a viable prototype by next year, much more profitable. But then again, it’s Elon Musk’s company; So you can expect the unexpected.
But what about the dangers of robotics? Musk himself warned that AI posed a fundamental threat to the existence of human civilization. “We’re setting it up … like it’s on a mechanical level, on a physical level you can escape from it and possibly defeat it. I hope it never happens,” Musk said. Not exactly comforting, but it feels good to hear. That if you can defeat a rogue Tesla bot, if it ever happens.
