Android or iPhone? We’re not going to be fans of that debate today but choosing your right model can be difficult if your intent is to move to an iPhone or upgrade to a new one. As in previous decades, Apple now launches four iPhone models a year. At the same time, it continues to sell older models at lower prices, even launching newer versions of the SE series. This can be difficult for those who are not tech-savvy.
Fortunately, we have to guide you through the journey of choosing the right iPhone. We’ve compiled a list of models that are worth getting, as well as the ones you should avoid, especially the new iPhone 13 models near the corner.
IPhone model that is now worth buying
IPhone 12 mini
Starting at Rs 59,999, the iPhone 12 Mini is a sweet deal if you’re good with a compact smartphone. The Mini is easy to rock, has a great display, a pair of great cameras and support for Apple’s convenient MagSafe charging. Battery life isn’t outstanding but you can still get it all day. Oh, there is also support for 5G networks.
The larger version of the Mini offers a larger display, much better battery life and faster MagSafe charging. The 64GB version seems sweet at Rs 67,999 but if you look at it every day for a few years, the 128GB variant makes more sense at Rs 72,999.
Starting at Rs 48,999, the iPhone 11 is another good option if you can’t go beyond the 50K. It didn’t get the smooth look of the 12 but the iPhone 11 has a very fast A13 chip, some highly capable cameras, better battery life and beautiful colors.
Now you have to pay Rs 33,000 for a relatively new iPhone. The iPhone SE is a great entry point for first-timers, as well as a great option for those who don’t want notched iPhones. It is as compact as the Mini, has a good single camera, and promises at least four more years of iOS updates. Keep an eye on the battery life as well as the smaller 4.7-inch display.
To avoid iPhone models
The iPhone XR looks old and looks, though it shares the design with the 11. The A12 chip is fast enough but it is now three years old. The camera doesn’t hold the same priced Android phone and with less iOS support years under the belt it no longer makes a reasonable option.
IPhone 12 Pro
The only reason the iPhone 12 Pro is on this part of the list is because of the upcoming launch of the iPhone 13 Pro model in a few weeks. If you don’t get it with a huge discount, there’s no point in buying iPhone 12 Pro models now.
IPhone 11 Pro
You can often find iPhone 11 Pro and Amazon stock clearance sale on Flipkart at a price of 80,000 or more. Avoid this, as an iPhone 12 model for the same price will serve you better. Also, you can wait for the iPhone 13 to appear in a few weeks.
