Techkriti, Asia’s largest technology and entrepreneurship festival organized by IIT Kanpur, signifies creation or innovation in technology. A host of engaging workshops, engaging shows, engaging talks, informal events, engaging exhibitions and exciting competitions combine to create the face of technological innovation. Over 60,000 people from around 1500 prestigious colleges across the globe visit the four days of the festival. The dates for Techkriti’23 have been set for March 23 to March 26, 2023, and look forward to many more years of technological advancement.
Various contests are organized by Techkriti with a combined prize pool of over 45 Lakhs. The competitions lay the foundation for Techkriti’s core mission, which is to foster student enthusiasm and innovation in technology. Model United Nations, Robogames, ECDC, Take Off, Fintech, Software Corner, Mixed Bowl, Design, Technovation, Entrepreneurial and Business events are some of the common categories under which the competitions fall. Through the platform provided by Techkriti, students have a great opportunity to participate, showcase their talent and fuel their creative and innovative appetite.
The workshops organized by Techkriti are designed to expose the engineers of the future to the advancements in science and technology. They enhance the core skills required in the technology industry. Some of the workshops conducted by Techkriti in the past include App Integration, Cloud Computing, Ethical Hacking, Internet of Things (IoT), Android App Development, Robotics, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Python Programming.
Techkriti, in its last 28 years, has witnessed various eminent personalities who have shown right direction to many scientific minds by offering mind-stimulating talks and motivational speeches. Techkriti’23 welcomes speakers such as Mylswamy Annudurai (Moon Man of India), Rajagopala Chidambaram (Former Principal Scientific Adviser to Government of India, Integrated Test Preparation for Pokhran-I and Pokhran-II), Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa Feeling proud (Former Chief of Air Staff IAF), Jeffrey Archer (world’s best selling author), Premlata Agarwal (First Indian woman to climb seven summits) and many more. The words of such veterans will help nurture future technological endeavors.
Exhibitions organized by Tekkriti focus on presenting engaging objects to the audience. Their main objective is to shape the innovation ideas and thinking of the future. Some of the past exhibitions at Techkriti include ATH Zurich (autonomous football playing robot), Nino (the first Indian humanoid robot), Remedy (the world’s first wearable device to record, play and perform), Hyperloop (a cool transport system) , OTO (a controller is a musical instrument from Germany), INDO (the tallest humanoid robot), HOLAS (the world’s first interactive tabletop holographic display), LIGO (gravitational waves in action) Puzzlebox Orbit (a brain-controlled helicopter from the USA), Vintage car exhibits including the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, Singer, Morris Cowley, and Austin Saloon, Facebots (robots that use Facebook account information to interact with friends), etc.
Apart from workshops, talks and exhibitions, the festival also hosts incredible shows and performances. Over the years the festival has seen concerts by Piyush Mishra, DJ Night by Willy William, stand up comedy by Zakir Khan, and Biswa Kalyan Rath, drone shows, DJ Night by Zephyrtone and concerts by DJ Morgan, Sonu Nigam and Kailash Kher Went. Edge Riders (Motorbike Stunt Show), Informal Session by TVF Pitchers Team, Breathtaking performances by Farhan Akhtar, Beltek and NDS & Blues, Finnish Rock Band, 3D Projection Mapping Show, Fireworks and Laser Show, Performance by Sukhwinder Singh, Concert by Nucleya , Magic Show by Magician Nigel Mead, The Laser Man, Feeding the Fish, Air Show by Indian Air Force’s Akash Ganga Team and many more. The shows and performances really add to the charm among the attendees of the festival.
