Spotify has launched a new ‘What’s New’ feed feature to keep users engaged on the platform. The new feature will notify users when their favorite artists and podcast producers release new content. Following sources from popular social networks like Facebook, Spotify placed a bell icon in the mobile app’s home interface that would allow users to receive notifications on the latest content. The feed will be rolled out globally to both iOS and Android in the next few weeks.
What the new feed feature does:
The new feed feature will allow musicians to collect new music and content and podcast following a Spotify user on the platform. A new bell icon at the top right of the mobile app’s home interface lets you access the feed. Whenever new content is added, a blue dot will notify you of the latest content. Someone can add artists and podcasts by clicking the “Follow” button on their respective pages. The feed will also be updated in real-time.

While the new feature will certainly help hold new songs on a stack, it will be more effective for regular podcast listeners.
