Snapchat gets new features for iOS: Here’s how to use Bitmoji Reactions, poll stickers


With people embracing the New Year with resolutions and precautions, Snapchat is rushing to start and celebrate the year with a major update. But the social media network planned to please only iOS users, bypassing the Android ones.

Although Snapchat makes a humble mention of enabling users to post, respond, and even take surveys on Android and iOS devices with a bunch of new features. Here are several additions that Snap users can use (once they’ve gotten the update on their iPhone).

As explained by the Snap folks, this feature will let you reply to individual messages in an ongoing chat. To start a thread, hold down a message in a chat and tap Reply.

Snapchat has added a total of seven Bitmoji sentiments that users can choose from, and you can quickly react to any quirky or funny text that makes you crack up during a conversation.

The latest update also brings emoji-powered polls to Stills and Stories. The visual polls will work on iOS and Android so that friends can show their views on one’s account. “Snap polls were designed with transparency in mind—you can see how your friends voted to help ensure that responses stay thoughtful and kind. Snapchat is also making changes to the video and audio calling interfaces to engage users. The platform cites that with its improved calling features users will be able to use tens and thousands of video calling-compatible lenses to find more ways to express themselves.

To recall, Snap added ‘Story Studio’, a standalone video editing app, last month. But, the app is exclusive for iPhone users. As users on Android wait for the app to be released into the platform, the new features arriving on iOS add sad hicks for users on the other end.
