The Galaxy A-series phones are attributed to the mid-range segment from Samsung and this segment includes three phones namely Galaxy A3X, Galaxy A5X and A7X. While the A3x and A5x phones were placed in the affordable mid-range segment, the Galaxy A7x was meant for the premium mid-range market.
However, it appears that the Galaxy A7x didn’t do great numbers for Samsung as online reports suggest that Samsung may discontinue the A7x phone. That said, the Samsung Galaxy A74 which was expected to launch next year may never release.
Samsung Galaxy A74 likely to be cancelled, A7x series may be shelved altogether
A report by Galaxy Club has revealed that Samsung may end the Galaxy A7X line. The report states that information has been received about the Galaxy Galaxy A54, Galaxy A34, Galaxy A24, and Galaxy A14, but no important information has been received about the Galaxy A74 so far.
Having said that, the Samsung Galaxy A74 may not be in development at all. Samsung may instead focus on other A models including mid-range models like the A5x and A3x. The A2x and A1x are reserved for the budget segment.
However, the question is how will Samsung bridge the gap between the A to S lineup, as the Galaxy S22 FE was earlier said to be canceled as well? For starters, the reason for the S22 FE’s cancellation was the same as the A74 – there’s no mention of the model number anywhere.
The certification of the Galaxy A54 is increasing amidst the news of the closure of the Galaxy A74. The phone is likely to be released in the first quarter of next year.
Samsung Galaxy A54 recently passed the Bluetooth SIG certification. It has been confirmed to come with Bluetooth 5.3. With model number SM-A546V, the phone is expected to come with a new octa-core chipset, a bigger battery, and Android 13 OS.
The post Samsung may not launch the A74/A7X phones next year, but the Galaxy A54 is definitely the first to appear on BGR India.
