Samsung today launched its gaming hub, the Samsung Gaming Hub, on all of the company’s 2022 Smart TVs. Announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022, Samsung Gaming Hub will give gaming enthusiasts access to a variety of game streaming services including Xbox, Nvidia GeForce Now, Google Stadia, Twitch and Utomic on a single platform. Samsung said that the platform will soon support Amazon Luna.
With this new platform, players can use the accessories of their choice, such as a Bluetooth headset and controller, to play games without the need to purchase a separate gaming console. “The biggest advantage is that users can enjoy streaming games through Samsung Smart TVs and monitors without any additional gear… In other words, it is a comprehensive game service where users can access Samsung Smart TVs all at once. Enjoy gaming content and experiences in the U.S., wrote a blog post by Hege Chung, GeM PM of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
Apart from game streaming services, Samsung’s Gaming Hub also includes music streaming services like YouTube and Spotify which enable users to play their favorite music and podcasts and watch all the trailers from this platform.
However, the most notable addition to the mix is the Xbox TV app. While Nvidia GeForce Now, Google Stadia and Twitch are available on smart TVs from other companies, the Xbox TV app is not, making it exclusive to Samsung’s gaming hub.
samsung gaming hub availability
As far as availability is concerned, the Samsung Gaming Hub, as mentioned earlier, is only available on the 2022 Samsung Smart TVs. The list includes the 2022 Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, QLEDs and the 2022 Smart Monitor series. However, as of now, the platform is only available in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Korea, and Brazil. This means that users in India will not be able to use this platform for streaming games from the services of their choice yet. There is no word on when Samsung will make this gaming hub available in other regions and countries including India.
That said, Samsung said in the FAQ section on its Gaming Hub page that the Samsung Gaming Hub “will be integrated into your 2022 Samsung Smart TV later this year for easier access.” That means the platform should come to other countries around the world sometime later this year.
Access to Xbox, Nvidia GeForce Now, Twitch, Stadia and others in 2022 Smart TVs first appeared on BGR India following the launch of Samsung Gaming Hub.
