Samsung may be planning to launch a Fan Edition of the latest flagship Galaxy S23 later this year. Dubbed the Galaxy S23 FE, the rumored phone will be the third Fan Edition phone after the Galaxy S21 FE, which was launched in January last year, and the Galaxy S20 FE, which arrived in 2020. Samsung never launched the Galaxy S22 FE, probably due to chip constraints and the good response to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, so the Galaxy S23 FE will be a direct successor to the Galaxy S21 FE.

Korean publication Daily Hankooki informed of There is speculation that the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE could arrive sometime in August or September this year, but the exact timeline is unclear. However, the report states that the launch of the Galaxy S23 FE will happen in the second half of 2023 i.e. after June. Samsung usually launches its foldable phones in the second half, so it is possible that the S23 FE will arrive alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.

The report further states that Samsung will skip the release of the Galaxy A74 and will instead focus on the launch and sales of the Galaxy S23 FE. Since the Fan Edition phones are mostly mid-rangers, it wouldn’t make sense to exist parallel to the high-end A-series phones. The Galaxy S FE series comes with the same design as the high-end Galaxy S series of the same generation, but has toned-down specifications and thus, costs comparatively less.

For what it’s worth, the Galaxy S23 FE will come with three cutouts at the back for the cameras but without any island to differentiate them from the rest of the rear panel design. There will be a punch-hole in the center of the display which will house the selfie camera and possibly a metal trim. The specifications are unclear at the moment, but you can expect it to come with some standard internals such as a high refresh-rate AMOLED display, 5G processor, and fast-charging battery.
