Reliance Jio has recently announced a new plan, which is different from all its other packs. The new plan of Rs 259 offers a validity of 30 days. This is higher than most of the other plans that offer 28 days validity. TRAI has asked Indian telecom companies to issue at least one plan with a validity of 30 days. TRAI had given telcos 60 days to comply with this request and Jio was the first to introduce its 30-day plan.
Reliance Jio Rs 259 plan
Reliance Jio’s new plan is giving 30 days validity to the users. The company is also offering unlimited calls with this plan. Users will get 1.5 GB data daily. Once the data runs out, you can either opt for add-ons or the network speed will drop to 64Kbps. With the plan of Rs 259, users also get 100 SMS per day.
Airtel Rs 265 plan
Airtel is yet to comply with TRAI’s directive to provide at least one plan with a validity of 1 month. However, we can compare Jio’s offerings with the next closest alternative to Airtel. Airtel is offering just 1GB data per day for a period of 28 days. It is less in both validity and data as compared to Jio offering. However, with this plan, the user gets unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day.
Vi 269 Plan
Vodafone Idea customers can get the Rs 269 plan to get a validity of 28 days, as Airtel is offering. The data is also capped at 1GB per day after which the internet speed will drop dramatically. However, voice calls are unlimited and you will get 100 SMS per day.
Reliance Jio is clearly the winner here in terms of value. Not only does it give you 50 percent more data on a daily basis but it also offers a validity of 2 additional days. While this may sound like a small gain, TRAI received complaints that with the validity of 28 days, users need to recharge 13 times every year. By simply increasing the validity by 2 days, this frequency is reduced to 12 times. It is expected that Airtel and Vodafone Idea will soon revise their plans to meet the demands of TRAI.
Vi’s Rs 269 plan first appeared on BGR India, after Reliance Jio’s Rs 259 plan, compared to Airtel’s Rs 265 plan.
