Reliance Jio is currently working with Google to create a budget 4G smartphone for the Indian people, known as Geophone Next. The device was unveiled at the 44th Reliance AGM earlier this year. The company claims that it will run the world’s most affordable 4G smartphone and a special version of Android.

Geophone Next will be a full fledged smartphone in support of Google Play Store, Google Assistant and many more. The smartphone will be available for purchase on September 10th.

Although Reliance Jio has not yet disclosed the price of the budget device. However, Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, said the smartphone would be the world’s most affordable 4G smartphone. Currently, the cheap 4G smartphone Samsung Galaxy M01 Core will be priced at Rs 4,999, according to the launch price. This means that the price of Geophone Next will be below Rs 5,000.

Reliance announced during its AGM that Geophone Next will be available for sale from September 10 on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi.

From its appearance, the Geophone Next appears to have a polycarbonate rear and a pill-shaped camera module in the center of the top. The camera module consists of a single lens and an LED flash. In addition, the back panel has Geo branding with a speaker grille. The front panel has a thick top and bottom bezel with a selfie camera.

While the specifications of the smartphone have not been officially announced, Geo has announced that the device will come with 4G connectivity. At the same time, the company has announced that it will run a special version of Android. However, the Camera Go app is seen in a promotional image, thus indicating that the device will run Android Go.

The smartphone will include Google Assistant, text-to-speech capabilities, language translation, smart cameras with AR filters, and more. In addition to the features, Google has announced that it will support users for “the latest Android releases and security updates.” The camera app has been co-engineered by Google and Geo and will come with features like Night Mode, HDR Advanced and Snapchat AR Filters.

According to the leak, the device will be powered by a Unisoc SoC with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. However, we recommend that you take this information with a pinch of salt, as it has not been confirmed by the company.
