Crafton has launched its new PUBG New State game on both Android and iOS platforms after some trouble. The game has been launched in over 200 countries, including India, and features advanced graphics, new gameplay mechanics and more. The game has been live for some time now, and I’ve managed time travel and parachutes in Troy, as well as testing the now-destroyed Eranjel. Here I will share the experience of playing the game in 2051.
PUBG: New State
PUBG: The new state brings PUBG mobile into the modern age of mobile gaming through the application of new technologies like global lighting. Although the game brings the implementation of new technology, it manages to keep some important aspects of PUBG intact. While there are still a number of bugs and issues that plague the game, Crafton has acknowledged most of them and is currently working to resolve them.
I tested the game on Apple iPhone 12 Pro powered by iOS 15.1.
Erangel 2051 and other maps
One of PUBG’s most widely circulated maps: New State was Erangel, as it is a classic map that has been synonymous with PUBG since its launch. Erangel would seem quite familiar but at the same time it would seem like a new map, with many classic structures destroyed over time. In addition, the buildings and structures have been given a distinct look with many visible improvements, but still with the places, you can recognize.
In addition to the Erangel, the new Troi map is also quite well designed and looks much more futuristic than the Erangel. I personally prefer the map with all the trams and locations
There is not much difference in the team deathmatch mode station map and it looks like Battlegrounds Mobile India TDM mode.
I personally like a number of mechanics changes that make the gameplay much more realistic and closer to PC / console gaming. One of the changes is that the target support becomes inactive while shooting in the smoke. There’s also a pick setting for the gun, which comes in handy when you’re hiding and shooting. Also, the peak mode for shooting provides much lower recoil and allows better spraying, however, the accuracy is questionable.
Interestingly, some buildings in Troy have bulletproof glass that can help you cover while looking for supplies and better ammunition.
While things can get better in some ways, there are still some improvements that need to be made, such as taking the players on their journey, rather than crushing or hitting them while driving the tram. And after pulling the player forward, they automatically let the players enter them.
Moreover, during my second match in the game, I started to face big gaps, which ended with the death of my character because I could not aim or shoot properly.
There are apparently many improvements compared to BGMI, however, the game is still far from reaching PC / console quality. Even compared to other mobile Battle Royale games, PUBG: New Kingdom only competes with Call of Duty: Mobile.
The details and textures are quite realistic and provide a good gameplay experience. However, there are some points that may seem strange and rough to you.
The game currently offers light, medium, high, ultra and extreme graphic options, which you can set according to your device and the type of performance you want. I played the game in extreme graphics and ultra frame rate mode, and the gaming experience was uninterrupted and immersive, with the exception of a few bugs and the lag I encountered when I set the settings to medium.
Also while playing the game, the device gets hot in a few minutes and the phone gets very hot in 30 minutes of the game. Note that the phone was housed inside a Spizen Neo hybrid case.
Recruit system and revival
The new recruit system is a nice feature that allows players to invite a falling enemy to join their team if space allows. This feature can come in handy whenever your team is under one player and needs your help to push the enemy.
In addition, there is a new revival system that will allow players with a green flare gun to recover the down player.
Resurrecting teammates from the grave is also an alternative to the Green Flair song. This was previously possible in payload mode using only peer ID cards.
One thing I would like to change about Crafton is the availability of Green Flair songs, which are readily available at low cost drone stores.
PUBG: With the new state, Krafton has added a new drone store that allows players to call for supplies within matches. However, this will make it harder for casual players because they have to strategize first and then call for supplies, so they can wait for them to come and not play head first.
Vehicles are something fun to drive on PUBG: The new state seems to be inspired by Krafton Tesla since they are electric and even the trams that run fast enough. Vehicles can now save supplies, auto-drive and run much faster. You can also use car doors as a cover, which can be a game-changer in a fierce battle.
Players can customize the weapon to fire it according to their configuration, such as you can add an auto mode to the MK47 mutant and fire both shots of the S686 together. These players need to get kits to customize, which they can find on maps and from the drone store for up to 500 drone credits.
PUBG: The new state has managed to enhance the gameplay experience of PUBG Mobile / BGMI and is a worthy successor to the popular Battle Royale game. Although there are multiple bugs and issues that Crafton needs to fix and issue updates, the experience is still enjoyable.
However the game will have a major learning curve for players as it introduces new features like electric vehicles, drone stores and much more. The revival and the new recruit system make it very fun to play.
I enjoyed playing the game and found it interesting. The bugs stopped me a bit, but the future experience is something that got me back into it. I myself will continue to play the game for a while and would suggest you to give me a spin once in a while.
