Pokémon Go maker Niantic today announced the Pokémon Go Festival of Light 2022 event. The second edition of the annual event, which is organized to celebrate Diwali, will begin at 10 am on October 14, 2022, and will continue till 8 pm on October 17, 2022. During this four-day event, players will have the chance to catch two new Pokémon in-game. They will also encounter more Pokemon in the wild and get more rewards while playing the game.
“We are excited for trainers to experience the Festival of Lights event in Pokémon GO, timed to coincide with Diwali! In this event, trainers will encounter glowing Pokémon across the map and celebrate the occasion. There will be animated poses to celebrate. Last but not least, on October 15th, there will be a Community Day featuring Litwick, whose shiny look will debut in Pokémon Go for the first time,” said Product Director, Pokémon Go Live Games at Niantic, Michael Steranka announced while competing.

Pokémon Go Festival of Lights 2022: New Pokémon
Niantic said that two new Roshan Pokémon will debut in the game during its upcoming event. These Pokémon are Morale and Shinotic. The company also said that players will be able to use 50 Morale candies to evolve Morale into Xianotic.

Niantic also shares a list of all the Pokémon that will appear more frequently in the wild during the Festival of Light 2022 event. These Pokémon are Pikachu, Vulpix, Magnemite, Chinchou, Litwick, Litlio, Helioptile, Daiden, Morel, Gallerian Ponyta, and Togedemaru.
The Pokémon Go creator also stated that when trainers use incense, they will often encounter Alolan Geodude, Blitzl, Darumaka, Litwick, Deden, Morale, Gallerion Ponyita, and Gallerian Darumaka.

Coming to the Pokémon raid, Niantic said that Gallerion Ponyita, Darumaka, Daiden, and Morrell will appear during one-star raids, while Alolan Raichu, Gallerian Weijing, Mavil and Hisuian Breviary will appear during three-star raids. Additionally, the company said that while the Xerneas five-star would appear during the raid, the Mega Metric will be visible during the Mega raid.
Finally, the company said that upon completing the field research tasks, players will face Gallerion Ponyita, Electabuzz, Magmar, Chinchou, Blitzl, Deden and Morrell.
Pokémon Go Festival of Lights 2022: Pokémon Event Bonuses and Rewards
As far as rewards and bonuses are concerned, players will have a greater chance of getting Shiny Chinchou and twice the XP for catching a Pokémon. They’ll also get twice as much candy for catching a Pokémon, and the incense activated during the event will last for two hours.
Lastly, Niantic said that players will be able to obtain event-themed stickers by spinning PokeStops, opening gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
