Poco has started rolling out Android 13 for the F4 5G flagship phone in India. The new MIUI 14 update for the Poco F4 5G not only upgrades the firmware to Android 13, but also adds support for Jio True 5G services. Since Jio uses 5G Standalone (SA), software support is required on the phone. After the update, Jio users in eligible cities will be able to experience 5G speeds.
Taking to Twitter, Poco India country head Himanshu Tandon wrote, “To ensure stability, the roll-out will happen in a phased manner, with beta users updated first. Full roll-out is expected in a week if there is no significant response. Thank you for your patience. So, it is possible that some Poco F4 5G users, especially those on the beta channel, may have received the latest software before other users, but eventually, it will be available to all. He also mentioned that the new update takes the firmware version of the Poco F4 5G to V14.0.2.0.TLMINXM.
According to users who have managed to get the update, the new Android 13-based MIUI 14 update is 3.5GB in size. The changelog of the new firmware also mentions the December 2022 Android security patch. If you also get the prompt, make sure you follow basic hygiene before continuing with the process of installing new software. For example, check if your phone has enough battery and your data is backed up securely.
