Oppo’s smart assistant Brino accidentally omitted the details of the ColorOS 12 release date. The new version of ColorOS, based on Android 12, is baking at the bottom of the oven, but new reports indicate that a stable public release will take place next month.

According to A. GSMArena According to the report, a Weibo user has been able to get the launch date of ColorOS 12 through Oppo’s digital assistant Brino. When asked about version 12 of ColorOS, Smart Assistant (which wasn’t so smart) gave a very specific answer. The user shared a screenshot on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo which you can see below.

When translating, the quote appears to be September 13, 2021. It also has a date that falls at 3 PM (12:30 PM IST) China time. But as the news spread like wildfire, the assistant realized the error and responded with a report that said it would only be “soon, please stay with us.”

Google has not yet shared any official release date for the Android 12 public release. The tech giant has recently launched Android 12 Beta 4.1 for Pixel phones. The new beta build brings boot loop and VPN fixes for Google-made phones, and other fixes like Bluetooth calling, volume control. A new beta version was announced on Android Beta Subredit.
