Oppo Reno 6 Pro vs Vivo X60: Which good-looking phone under Rs 40,000?

The Oppo Renault 6 Pro has recently entered the upper mid-segment with the aim of providing a nourishing experience with beautiful looks, focus on the cameras, fast performance and much more. While it looks like a perfect phone in the Rs 45,000 price range, it has some competition. And it’s not just OnePlus.

We are talking about another phone that has the same vision as the new Renault. It is the Vivo X60 that tries to provide a similar premium feel at a reasonable price. So, what are the options for those who want a strong statement-y package? We are here to answer both phones against each other. Have a read to find out.

Oppo Renault 6 Pro vs Vivo X60

Design

Both smartphones want to be handsome options for the fashion conscious. And this is what they are. Both display gradient designs that are pleasing to the eye.

In the Vivo X60, the gradient design is complemented by a satin finish that makes it more head-turning. On the back is a rectangular camera hamp that comes with the “ZESS Vario-Tessar” embossment and if you are attracted by the complex camera sensor details it will have an impact. At 176 grams it weighs quite a bit.

The Renault 6 Pro also qualifies as a beautiful phone. With a ‘Renault Glow’ design, it can easily start a conversation. The Premium S21 Ultra-inspired camera hump and attractive colors also look impressive. However, does it have a matte finish and plus points? It does not attract smudges. In our same review, it seemed quite comfortable to use.

While both devices are beautiful, it depends on which one is best suited for them

Display

Both phones come with a five-hole screen but there are differences. The Renault 6 Pro gets a 6.5-inch curved edge AMOLED screen with five-hole corners. It supports a 90Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Vivo X60 comes with a flat AMOLED screen with a 6H6-inch wide 120Hz refresh rate.

Since both are based on AMOLED panels, they can allow for punch color. The Vivo phone has an edge due to the 120Hz refresh rate. Also, it gets a higher 240Hz touch sampling rate. However, if you’re sucking on a curved display, the Renault 6 Pro is your guy.

Performance

The Vivo X60 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip and the Oppo phone has become its rival: the MediaTek Dimension 1200. We have now established that the Snapdragon 870 and Dimension 1200 chips can provide performance with two numbers of high-end phones. Several daily tasks, multitasking and much more can be handled well.

Oppo Renault 6 Pro 5G

This is the case with Vivo X60 and Oppo Renault 6 Pro. The devices are also good enough for gaming. The Vivo phone has got FunTuch OS 11 based on Android 11 which feels a bit confusing and feels unbalanced in our review regarding X60 Pro. ColorOS 11.3 based on Android 11 has proven to be much smoother and cleaner.

The X60 comes with a 4,300 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging. The Renault 6 Pro delivers power from a 4,500mAh battery with faster 65W charging. Both phones come with a single speaker, enhanced RAM and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The camera

Here is another area of focus for these phones. The Vivo X60 gets a combination of a 48-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens on the back and a 32-megapixel front camera. The Oppo Renault 6 Pro gets a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The front camera is the same as the X60.

The Z60S-powered cameras on the X60 are capable of good color reproduction and images with detail. We’ve reviewed its older sibling: the X60 Pro but the camera output is more or less the same. The difference is seen in the Pro variant, both in the absence of gimbal stability and pixel-shift technology.

The cameras in the Renault 6 Pro are equally great performers with sharp images. The videography bit, the highlight of which is that it decently works well with bokeh-ed videos and more. Both employ OIS for stable videos and photos.

Price

The Oppo Renault 6 Pro comes with a price tag of Rs 39,990 for a single 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The Vivo X60 is priced at Rs 37,990 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and Rs 41,990 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Judgment

Both the Vivo X60 and Oppo Renault 6 Pro aim to attract millennials with their well-rounded looks, social media-friendly camera results and fairly fast performance. While both are equally good competitors, the slight tide and UI are the reasons anyone might want to make a choice. Take a look at the pros and cons of both of them here for a better idea:

– Display a curved edge
