OnePlus Nord 2 is in the news but not for very good reasons. Bangalore-based Ankur Sharma posted a picture of his wife’s damaged brand New OnePlus Nord 2 on Twitter.

Tweet (Has now been deleted) Sharma said that his wife is in trauma due to the explosion. This is the first time the OnePlus Nord 2 unit has caught fire. OnePlus is investigating the matter

The smartphone maker said through its OnePlus India Support Twitter handle, “We are shocked to hear about your experience. We are deeply concerned and want it to depend on you. We request you to contact us via a direct message so that we can correct and turn it around for you. OnePlus did not disclose whether it would replace the exploded unit or compensate in any other way.

Pictures posted by Sharma reveal that the unit was completely damaged. The pictures show that the rear panel, frame and display are completely burnt out. This is the first case where the OnePlus Nord 2 battery has exploded. This does not mean that OnePlus Nord 2 is not safe to use. There have been a number of similar incidents in the past with phones from other smartphone brands.

Earlier this year, the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max caught fire. Shortly after highlighting the incident, Xiaomi said it was a “customer-induced loss” due to external forces. It is possible that the same thing could happen with the OnePlus phone.

OnePlus did not disclose the cause of the battery explosion. We will update this space if the company shares an official statement with us.
