The Bengaluru-based startup has now started accepting new bookings for the electric scooter. Interested buyers can visit the Ola Electric website and reserve a slot for booking the Ola S1 Pro by paying a token amount of Rs 499. Existing buyers, who have already reserved a slot, can buy Ola S1 Pro by depositing Rs 20,000. Customers who have already reserved their slots will get early access to the EV.
Recently, Ola Electric has voluntarily recalled 1,441 units of its electric scooter Ola S1 Pro after Union Minister Nitin Gadkari warned EV companies about the fire. On March 26, a fire broke out in the Ola electric scooter Ola S1 Pro in Pune. The recall will be of the same batch of scooters that were made with the scooter that caught fire.
Bhavish Aggarwal had recently reacted to the government’s dire warnings to EV companies. He said, “It is important that the standards are at a high level. Stranger things will happen to everyone. But we are following high standards, which is much more than what is mandated. I support punishment for those who are high.” Do not support the standards.”
The recent incidents of fires in electric scooters have raised concerns about the current safety standards issued by the Government of India. Apart from the response of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, NITI Aayog has also come out with a draft for EV Battery Swapping Policy.
