More recently, the company started rolling out MoovOS 3 for all its electric scooters and has completed the roll out to almost 90 per cent of its EVs. Now that the year 2022 is about to end, Ola Electric Founder and CEO Bhavish Agarwal has revealed the company’s plans for the coming year 2023.
In a long blog post, the CEO of Ola Electric revealed that the company plans to launch a slew of new electric vehicles in the year 2023. Aggarwal revealed that Ola will launch a mass-market scooter, a mass-market motorcycle and several other premium electric motorcycles in 2023. “In 2023 and 2024, we will launch several more 2W EV products – a mass market scooter, a mass market motorcycle, and several premium motorcycles (sports, cruisers, adventure, and road bikes),” Agarwal wrote in a blog post.
“This strong scale of 2W manufacturing gives us a very strong competitive advantage across core EV technologies and supply chains across software, electronics, batteries and power trains and enables us to manufacture world-class 4W products at very competitive price points,” he added. Will do.”
In his post, the Ola Electric CEO also talked about the timeline for when the company would launch its electric car – something Agarwal had teased earlier this year. He said that Ola Electric will launch its first electric car by 2024. He said, ‘Our first car will be launched in 2024 and by 2027 we will have 6 different products.’
Apart from sharing details about new and upcoming electric vehicles, Agarwal also shared details about the EV infrastructure being built by the company, which primarily involves designing and developing the batteries that will power these EVs. This includes setting up manufacturing units for In this regard, the CEO of Ola Electric said that the company will start its cell manufacturing plant with a capacity of 5GWh by the end of 2023.
“In 2023, we will commission our cell manufacturing plant with 5GWh capacity by the end of the year, with an ambition to install 100GWh during this decade. Our own technology and a local supply chain give us a strong competitive advantage over other global and Indian companies,” he added.
