Oben Electric has launched the electric bike Rorr in India. The price of the new e-bike has been kept at Rs 99,999. Oben has also claimed that the bike will be capable of covering a distance of up to 200 km on a single charge. Oben Electric claims that the new bike is completely made in India from design and development to manufacturing. The pre-booking of Rorr has started online from today. Online bookings are open and consumers can pre-book Rorr for Rs.999. They can check their eligibility for government discounts, financing and insurance options on NITI Aayog’s e-Amrit portal before buying a vehicle. Buyers can choose from three color variants.

Oben says the bike has “less engine and more engineering.” It can accelerate from 0-40 in 3 seconds. It offers a top speed of 100 kmph. The claimed charging time is 2 hours. The company claims that in ideal driving conditions (IDC), the bike will be capable of providing a range of 200 km.

The Oben Ror comes with interactive connected vehicle features like predictive maintenance, ride details, battery status, geo-fencing, geo-tagging, battery theft protection, charging station locator, on-demand service and roadside assistance. Riders will also find the Combined Braking System and Driver Alert System that provides visual and auditory cues, indicating when the vehicle is on, stationary, or in need of maintenance.
Oben Electric will follow a hub-and-spoke model to ensure timely availability of spare parts along with doorstep servicing for faster solutions.
Production
Oben Electric has a new manufacturing facility in Electronic City, Bengaluru. The company claims that it will start its operations and production soon. According to a company statement, the plant is equipped to meet an initial capacity of 3 lakh units per annum.
