Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Monday launched Droni, a quadcopter consumer camera drone. Known for his helicopter shots, the former Indian cricket captain is the brand ambassador of Garuda Aerospace, one of the leading drone manufacturing companies in India. The new camera drone was showcased at the Global Drone Expo in Chennai.

Droni is a new battery powered drone aimed at surveillance and will be available by the end of this year. The company has not disclosed further details about the new drone. Its price and features are also not available yet, but it is possible that the company will give more details about the launch later this year.

The company also announced the launch of another drone called Kisan Drone. It is aimed at farmers and will allow them to spray pesticides in 3 acres of land area per day.

Garuda Aerospace has drones for various purposes, such as surveillance, mapping, solar panel cleaning, agricultural seeding and inspection. The company’s inspection drone is in use in Telangana. According to Business Insider India, the company has partnerships and contracts worth around $1.2 billion. Its clients include Indian Army, Swiggy and MapmyIndia.
