Xiaomi is expected to introduce the next generation of MIUI Android skin soon: MIUI 13, which has started spreading rumors. Earlier it was revealed that the Xiaomi Skin will bring the trending memory expansion capabilities seen in Oppo and Vivo phones.
The most recent leak reveals some details about the functionality and may be due to the good news for several Xiaomi phone users out there.
The virtual RAM feature of MIUI 13 is highly anticipated
As a Weibo user (via) Gizmochina), Xiaomi is expected to introduce memory expansion technology with MIUI 13 as the name implies, it will increase the RAM of a Xiaomi phone to further increase the device’s multitasking capability and gaming from internal storage.
And it won’t be limited to a few phones. The MIUI 13 update will introduce an additional 3GB of RAM on all Xiaomi phones. This will still prove helpful for a number of phones from companies that still have less than 6GB of RAM.
It has been revealed that there will be a feature in the Memory Expansion Tech settings that can be turned on or off at the request of the user. A screenshot of this has been shared.
Xiaomi recently released an update for the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G, which allows users to add up to 2 GB of RAM taken from the phone’s storage. Sadly, the phone is exclusive to China.
Xiaomi seems to be quite interested in the technology and wants more phones for it. However, we still don’t know when all of the company’s smartphones will catch it.
As with other MIUI 13 features we will probably see improvements in UI design. There may be new animations, new app icons, new wallpaper options, a game floating window, an improved control center, and several new privacy and security features.
It will be released in August and the MI Mix 4 series is expected to be its first. Since there is no in-depth information about this, stay tuned if we find anything.
