Microsoft today announced that it plans to set up its fourth datacenter in India in Hyderabad. According to a report in The Times of India, the upcoming data center in Hyderabad is the largest among Microsoft’s data centers in the country and is a part of the Rs 15,000 crore investment in the country over 15 years.

Microsoft said its latest datacenter area in Hyderabad “will become part of the world’s largest cloud infrastructure.” The company also said that its new datacenter area in Hyderabad will be built with sustainable design and operation in mind, as part of Microsoft’s commitment to supply 100% renewable energy equal to the electricity consumed by Microsoft datacenters by 2025. Is.

The recently announced Hyderabad datacenter will join the company’s existing network of three data center regions in India in Pune, Mumbai and Chennai. It will offer the entire Microsoft portfolio, data solutions, artificial intelligence (AI), productivity tools and customer relationship management (CRM) in the cloud with advanced data security for enterprises, start-ups, developers, academia and government institutions.

The company also said that its upcoming data center in Hyderabad “will enable opportunities for local businesses to innovate with Microsoft cloud services.” Microsoft is also working with the Telangana government to accelerate the adoption of cloud, AI, IoT and cyber security solutions for governance, including efforts to upskill government officials, to pursue a career in cyber security through a cyber education program. Supporting and partnering young girls for Skill programs like Digi Saksham with Ministry of Labor and Employment to equip the job seekers from rural areas with technical skills.
