In the first impressions of Micromax 2B: In the midst of all the anti-China sentiment last year after the Galway Valley episode, Micromax was among the few Indian phone makers who took the opportunity to work again. The smartphone maker last year announced three ‘non-Chinese’ smartphones, including the Micromax In1B, Micromax 1 and Micromax Note 1. Taking it a step further, Micromax dubbed Micromax 2B and introduced the successor to the In1B phone. In India today the price is starting from 7,999
The newly released Micromax In2B specification has come with some upgrades in terms of design as well. Along with the smartphone, Indian phone makers aim to take a choice of a few popular devices available in the price segment, among others, including the Redmi 9, Samsung Galaxy F0 2, Realmy C11.
Design and display
The Micromax In2B looks pretty good for its charging price. All we have to review is the blue color option. Micromax offers In2B in two more colors, including black and green.
The Micromax 2B Sports has a clean design on both the front and back. The rear panel of the phone includes a rectangular camera module with two image sensors and an LED flash. Unlike most phones nowadays, its camera design doesn’t look clumsy at all and sits in the extreme left corner. The rear panel also has a notification fingerprint sensor and the bottom has the Micromax logo engraved on the side of the speaker grille.
In terms of design, I should say the same about the front panel. The smartphone has a waterdrop notch that fits into the selfie camera sensor. The three-sided bezels are relatively thinner than other phones with a significantly thicker chin in terms of price.
One of the best things about the phone is that, despite packing a huge 5000mAh battery, the 2B in Micromax feels quite light weight in the hand. The phone is very comfortable to use with one hand. It is the perfect size in my opinion and the weight is also very balanced.
The Micromax In2B offers a large 6.52-inch HD + display that is quite bright inside the house but not as bright outside. The phone also offers a decent looking experience for the price tag. I have a lot more to say about the multimedia performance and whether the phone is good for watching phone videos and movies in full reviews next week. So, stay for it.
Performance and camera
One of the best things about the Micromax In2B smartphone is the stock Android experience it offers. The phone is not like its predecessor, it runs on Android 11 software. No more Micromax in 2B bluetooth or any kind of pre-loaded unwanted third party applications like Pixel, Nokia and Motorola phones. Also, there are no ads. It is rare to find it on any phone that is so affordable. This Micromax phone must be different in terms of software and user experience.
I still can’t fully test the In2B and can talk more about performance, camera and battery in the full review next week. In terms of specifications, the Micromax In2B features a dual 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel camera system on the rear panel and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies and video calls. On the hardware front, the phone is powered by a UNISOC T610 processor with 6GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The base model of the phone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Overall, as a first impression, the Micromax In 2B looks pretty good on paper as well as at first glance. The smartphone looks good for the price and gives a stock Android experience which is definitely going to be its highlighting factor. A full review will soon reveal more about Micromax In2B’s battery, camera, display and hardware performance. Stay tuned.
