The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is currently running the Chips to Startup (C2S) programme. The government agency is going to host the second webinar on C2S on February 4, 2022. Under this programme, the government seeks to promote next generation capabilities among chip designers to make India self-reliant in electronics system design.

MeitY announced that the second C2S webinar will take place on February 4 between 3 PM to 4:30 PM. Along with the announcement tweet, the agency has also provided a link from where aspirants can register for the webinar.

The government agency states that under the C2S programme, it is looking to train 85,000 specialized manpower in the field of VLSI and Embedded System Design. It is also providing financial assistance and design infrastructure support for the design and development of application specific integrated circuits, system on chips, systems, IP cores and FPGA based designs.

It is also seeking applications from academic institutions, R&D organizations, startups and MSMEs for the programme.

In other news, T-Hub, the innovation ecosystem, has announced grant distribution to Indian startups in the hardware and IoT sector in partnership with MeitY. As per the announcement, 13 startups from across the country were selected to receive a grant of Rs 7.5 lakh from MeitY for the Scale Up program of Digital India. According to T-Hub, these grants will help these startups accelerate the development of their innovative solutions. This is a partial grant given to startups that have demonstrated proof of concept, built an existing customer base, and demonstrated potential at scale across the country.
