Maruti Suzuki recalls 11,177 Grand Vitara SUVs to fix seat belt issue


Automaker Maruti Suzuki has recalled 11,177 Grand Vitara SUVs manufactured between August 8, 2022, and November 15, 2022. The Indo-Japanese automaker has recalled these vehicles to rectify a possible defect in the rear seat belt mounting bracket. The affected consignment was manufactured between August 8, 2022 and November 15, 2022. Recently, Maruti recalled 17,362 units of the Grand Vitara, Brezza, Baleno, Alto K10, S-Presso and Eeco due to a faulty airbag controller.

“The company has announced the recall of 11,177 Grand Vitara vehicles manufactured between August 8, 2022, and November 15, 2022,” the company said in its new regulatory filing, adding, “It is suspected that a potential defect in the rear is defective. The seat belt mounting bracket (“Parts”), which in a rare case, may become loose over a long period of time and affect its functionality. Vehicle owners are required to get the affected parts inspected and replaced by a Maruti Suzuki authorized dealer workshop Will receive communication for free to replace.
