Mahindra sells four NFTs for Rs 26 lakh, best-selling ‘Standing Tall Thar’ NFT earns Rs 11 lakh


Mahindra & Mahindra entered the NFT space earlier this week. The automobile maker has now announced how much money it has made by selling the first batch of NFTs. Proceeds from the sale will be sent to Project Nanhi Kali. The company claims that this money will be used for the education of underprivileged girls in India. Mahindra earned a total of Rs 26 lakh from the sale of the first batch of NFTs.

Mahindra said in a statement, “The action-packed auction of the first series of Thar NFT has garnered high bids of Rs 26 lakh. The proceeds from the auction will be donated to Little Kali to empower the underprivileged girls in their schooling.

Mahindra has introduced a total of four new NFTs through Mahindra Gallery based on the Polygon platform. Buyers with a crypto wallet ID were able to participate in this auction on any third party marketplace that supports the Polygon platform. The highest bid was made for Standing Tall Thar NFT. It alone earned around Rs 11 lakh. The NFT was created to emphasize the Thar’s ability to navigate rough terrain such as rivers, slopes and dunes. Thar’s high seating position has also been highlighted in this NFT.

The other three include Born of the Earth NFT which highlights Mahindra Thar’s prowess on various elements of nature, Taking Flight NFT which emphasizes the 4×4 nature of the vehicle, and Exploring the Impossible NFT which explores Thar’s skills. Demonstrates offroading capability.

The auction and purchase took place on Mahindra Gallery, an online NFT marketplace created exclusively for this purpose in collaboration with Tech Mahindra. Buyers of these NFTs shall have the right to display and resell the NFTs.

The winners of the auction will be invited to experience 4×4 motoring at the Mahindra Adventure Off-Road Driver Training Academy (Igatpuri, Maharashtra) or the new Mahindra SUV Proving Track (MSPT, Chennai).
