Reliance Jio has started testing its ‘True 5G’ network in select cities across the country this week. The cities where Jio customers will be able to use the company’s 5G network include Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi and Kolkata. However, once Jio’s 5G network becomes available in these cities, not everyone will be able to access it.
Reliance Jio has already confirmed that Jio customers will get access to the high-speed 5G network through an invite. This invitation will be given to the customers in the MyJio app. Jio customers in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Varanasi can view the top carousel in the MyJio app on their smartphones to see if they have received an invitation to access its 5G network yet.

How to use Jio’s 5G service on your smartphone
While Reliance Jio has clarified that for the time being, Jio customers will be able to access its 5G network at no extra cost, it has also set a condition in the minimum requirement for its customers to get access to its 5G network.
Jio subscribers, both prepaid and postpaid, need to opt for a plan costing Rs 239 or more to be able to use Jio’s True 5G network, as per the details mentioned on a support page on Jio’s website. . “All Jio True 5G customers who have been invited for the Jio Welcome offer can enjoy unlimited 5G data with speeds up to 1 Gbps. This will work only if the Jio customer has a valid active base plan of Rs 239 or more for both prepaid and all postpaid users. wrote in a support page.

How to check if your phone supports 5G
If you are a Jio subscriber and you are not sure whether your smartphone supports 5G network or not, here is what you need to do:

Step 3: Go to ‘SIM & Network’ option.
Step 4: You will see a list of all the technologies under the ‘Preferred network type’ option.
