The Twitter account of the Indian Medical Association was hacked late last night. The hacker changed the name of the account to ‘Elon Musk’ and constantly responded to tweets from the official Twitter accounts of Elon Musk and even Tesla. Most of the tweets made by the hacker were promoting cryptocurrencies. The hacker not only changed the name but also the profile picture of the official IMA Twitter account.
This new attack comes just weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official Twitter account was hacked. The common aspect of both hacking incidents is that after the hack, the accounts sent out various tweets promoting the cryptocurrency. The tweets were in the form of crypto offers in case the Prime Minister’s Twitter account was hacked.
Currently, the IMA’s official Twitter account is still live but the name has been removed and changed to ‘.’. has been changed from. The tweets sent by the hacker are also present on the account.
Earlier in July last year, a similar hacking incident had come to the fore. The account of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) was hacked and the account’s name was changed to ‘Elon Musk’.
