So you’ve decided to retire from the safe Apple ecosystem, but enter the risky and colorful Android city. Switching from iPhone and Android was once a daunting task, it is somewhat stressful. From contact listing, photo transfer to video, the process feels like traveling by train. Remembering passwords for accounts and apps is the most challenging.

It’s a dull memory game that I wouldn’t like to play. If you are on the same boat and looking for a solution, here are the steps you need to follow to transfer your passwords from your old iPhone to the new Android device.

Tips for exporting passwords from Apple devices

As we mentioned earlier, the Apple ecosystem is secure and as the company takes the protection of user privacy seriously, it becomes difficult to transfer data, passwords, etc. But there is a solution to transfer password iCloud Keychain to Google account for Android device. For this you will need a Mac or MacBook running macOS Monterey.

Step 1- First of all, on your Mac/ Macbook open your iCloud account Sign in System Preferences.

Step 2- Then search for Password and click on it.

Step 3- Enter the authentication password that you used to log in to your system.

Step 4- Scroll to the bottom and click on the three-dot menu.

Step 5- Two options will pop up on the screen, click on Export Passwords and then tap on Confirm button.

Step 6- Next, choose a name and location for your CSV file.

This process will not remove your password from the Apple device. Moving on to the second part of the process-

How to Import Passwords to Android Device via Google Account

  • Open Google Chrome on your Mac and type “passwords.google.com”.

  • Select the account where you want to save the password, enter the credentials when asked.

  • Once logged in, click on the setting icon appearing in the top right corner of ‘Password Manager’.

  • Search for ‘Import Password’ and click on the Import button on the right.

Then tap on ‘Select File’ and view the CSV file saved in your system.

-Once located, tap on the Import option.

Once the process is complete you will have all the passwords transferred to your Google Password Manager.
