Ayushman Bharat, a national initiative that is a part of the recommendations of the National Health Policy 2017, was announced by the Prime Minister in 2018.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a national health protection scheme funded by the Government of India. The scheme was launched with an aim to cover more than 50 crore citizens and about ten crore underprivileged families in the country without any limit on family size and age. PMJAY is geared to help families avail the best of healthcare services with insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh annually for each family for tertiary and secondary hospitalization expenses. The scheme provides cashless hospitalization cover in public hospitals and network private hospitals. The primary advantage of this plan is that it covers about 1,400 extreme treatments.

Other benefits available under this scheme are as follows- Treatment and health facilities under PMJAY are available free of cost throughout the country. It covers post-hospitalization expenses, and in case of multiple surgeries, the cost of the highest package will be covered. How to register online for Ayushman Bharat Scheme

PMJAY scheme is applicable to all those beneficiaries who are identified under SEC 2011 list and who are part of RSBY scheme. If you want to register online for PMJAY then here are the steps you need to follow-

Visit the official website or type it on the search bar https://www.pmjay.gov.in/.

Then enter your mobile number and captcha code which will appear on the screen.

-You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number which will take you to PMJAY login portal

Next, select the state from where you are applying for the scheme.

Then select your eligibility by entering details from any of the following options- Mobile Number, Name, Ration Card Number, or RSBY URN Number

  • If you are eligible, your name will appear on the right side of the page

You can click on the ‘Family Members’ tab to check the beneficiary details

Talking about the documents required to apply for the scheme you need to have Aadhar or PAN card for age and identity proof, contact details, caste certificate, income certificate and document proof of current family status (joint or single) would be required. ,
