Different Types of FSSAI License

 

Under FSSAI, there are two kinds of licenses, Central FSSAI, and State FSSAI License. Apart from these two normal category licenses, there is another type of FSSAI registration that is introduced for small food retailers. Through this small article, we will go through the simple steps to know how to apply for FSSAI License in India, what are eligibility and fee structure for the same.

 

Eligibility Criteria For FSSAI Central License

 

You will be eligible to apply for FSSAI Central Licence if you are running business units of following categories:

 

  • Units to handle and process Milk & all other dairy products
  • Units for processing of different kinds of vegetable oils with the aid of solvent extraction, and refineries along with oil expeller unit.
  • Meat processing and slaughtering units
  • Food processing centers all including repackers & relabellers
  • Proprietary and 100% proprietary foods.

 

Required Documentation for FSSAI-Central License

 

If you are willing to apply for FSSAI central license, you need to have following documentations ready with you:

  • Fully completed Form-B with the original signature of the business owner
  • Proper layout of location, and contact details of directors
  • Details of machinery and equipment
  • Photo identity proof, and government approved address proof.
  • Analysis of water report that should be done from well-known or recognized health laboratory
  • Possession proof of premises
  • If unit is processing water( mineral or carbonated ), pesticide residue report is a must to be availed from recognized health labs.
  • License and NOC from the producer
  • FSMS certification or plan details
  • Source of milk where you obtain
  • Meat and meat processing units from where you source it
  • NOC report from local body or municipality if needed
  • MCA certification if needed
  • Proof of business turnover
  • NOC/PA issued by FSSAI
  • IE Code provided by DGFT for importers
  • Certification offered by Tourism ministry if needed
  • Vehicle turnover proof if needed
  • FSSAI declaration form.

Fee Structure-FSSAI Central License

 

  • New License Fee– INR 7500/-
  • Renewal of License Fee– INR 7500/-
  • Modification of License Fee– INR 7500/-
  • Duplicate License Fee-INR 10/-

 

State FSSAI License

 

State-recognized FSSAI License is needed for retailers, distributors, transporters, storage unit owners, manufacturers, etc. State FSSAI License is approved by state authorities of every state in India.

 

FSSAI State License Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Units to handle and process Milk & all other dairy products
  • Units for processing of different kinds of vegetable oils with the aid of solvent extraction, and refineries along with oil expeller unit.
  • Meat processing and slaughtering units
  • Food processing centers all including repackers & relabellers
  • Proprietary and 100% proprietary foods.
  • Restaurants and Hotels

 

Documentation Required for FSSAI State License

 

  • Fully completed Form-B with the original signature of the business owner
  • Proper layout of location and contact details of directors
  • Details of machinery and equipment
  • Photo identity proof, and government-approved address proof.
  • Food Category List to be manufactured
  • Authority Letter with related person’s name & address proof
  • Possession proof of Business premises
  • Affidavit for partnership
  • Copy of manufacturers license and Non-objection certificate
  • FSMS certification and plan

 

Fee Structure for State FSSAI License

 

  • Productions that exceed 1 MT- INR 5000/-
  • Milk units production range from 10,001 to 50, 000 LPD to 2500 MT per annum- INR 5000/-
  • Productions that are below 1 MT- INR 3000/-
  • Milk Units production range from 501 to 10,000 LPD, or 2.5 MT to 500 MT per annum.
  • Hotels ranging up to 4 Star- INR 5000/-
  • All food service providers including canteens, clubs, restaurants- INR 2000/-
