Acclaimed mobile title Hitman Sniper is finally getting a follow-up. While Square Enix announced a follow-up to its shooter game at E3 last year, the developer has now released Hitman Sniper: The Shadow on both Android and iOS platforms.

YouTube influencers have already posted hour-long video clips to provide players with a fair idea of the gameplay. The new game does not feature Agent 47, but rather six different snipers, each with their own unique abilities. Each sniper’s weapons and stats can be upgraded as they progress, allowing players to leverage with each individual assassin. PocketGamer states that it is up to Agents of The Shadow to investigate 47’s disappearance and re-establish global stability.

Not only shooting targets, players can use their rifle to activate traps in addition to pursuing their prey. Players will have the option to try out a unique PvP mode and a chance to earn rewards, otherwise they can opt for a full campaign.

Simon Dungoor, Senior Producer of Hitman Sniper: Shadows at Square Enix Montreal, quoted his vision as saying: “From the beginning, our ambition was to provide a high production value Hitman Sniper experience on mobile in terms of quality graphics and gameplay. We want Were this game to start something new rather than a sequel. This vision freed us up to move in a different direction, like introducing The Shadow, and allowed us to create a deeper game experience for players. ”

In addition to new agents, players can expect new locations, where players can hone their skills and shoot unsuspecting enemies. As the game relies on PvP gameplay, the story mode expands the possibility of equipping with polishing skills and earning. With each level bringing some sort of puzzle, the game requires utmost precision to earn points and rewards. Hitman Sniper: The Shadows doesn’t have controller support, although it does come with touch controls, which early birds have criticized for being clunky. The game is free to download on the App Store and Google Play Store. Have you tried the game yet? Do share your experience in the comment section.
