Google announces major update for Google Home app with Spaces, Media tabs and more

Ahead of the global launch event on October 7, Google has made a slew of announcements for its Google Home app that will help users better control smart home devices, including Nest speakers, smart displays and routers. The new app will initially be released as a public preview to select users.

Google Home App: New Features, Updates

Google has announced that Google Home app users will now get a new Spaces feature that will let them control multiple devices in different rooms. They can also classify the devices according to their preference. Currently, the app has some lists including Kitchen, Bedroom, Living Room.

Users can also mark their frequently used devices as favorites so that they can easily access such devices directly from the home screen. A new media widget has also been introduced in the app. It will show what media is playing in the home and give users control over it.

Google has introduced some Nest app features to the Google Home app including easy navigation to the camera feed for viewing.

Google has further announced that the app is now coming to the web, which will let users manage smart home devices from their PC instead of their phone. The app will also be rolled out for the Pixel Watch which is scheduled to launch on October 7.

Plus, the Google Home app will now show you “routines” that will let you set schedules for different devices like “I’m about to eat dinner” and that dims the lights, locks the front door and more. some.

Google has also launched a second generation wired doorbell with increased battery levels and a WiFi connection.

Google has also unveiled the Nest WiFi Pro Mesh Router System that comes with faster WiFi 6e speeds, user-friendly setup process and dazzling design.
