A fire broke out in a Tata Nexon EV in Mumbai. Videos of an EV catching fire are doing the rounds on the internet and Tata Motors has given a statement in response to the incident. Fire broke out in Nexon EV near Vasai west zone in Mumbai.
The fire was extinguished before spreading to other vehicles or areas around the Nexon EV. There is no report of any casualties or injuries. Images emerging from the aftermath of the accident show the rear of the car with burns while the front of the vehicle appears relatively harmless, with even the vehicle’s tires being spared from the fire. This is the first fire incident in Tata Nexon EV. It has been the best-selling electric car in the country since its launch in 2020.

Tata Motors has claimed that it is investigating the matter thoroughly. The company has assured that it will provide a detailed report of the investigation.
Tata Motors said in a statement, “A detailed investigation is being conducted to ascertain the facts of the thermal incident that has surfaced on social media recently. We will share detailed feedback after our complete inquiry. We are committed to the safety of our vehicles and their users. This is the first incident after more than 30,000 electric vehicles have covered more than 1 million km across the country in almost 4 years.
