EPF or Employees’ Provident Fund or PF Account is a savings account of all the members of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) in which a fixed amount is deposited every month from our basic salary. Although there are certain conditions under which EPFO members can withdraw this money, there is no such restriction on balance checking. So, here are three ways using which you can check your EPF account balance.
Check PF Account Balance Using SMS
One of the easiest ways to check your EPF account balance is by using SMS. All you have to do is send an SMS to the mobile number 7738299899. The content of the message will be sent in the format ‘EPFOHO UAN ENG’. In this UAN is your personal UAN number while the last three characters represent your preferred language. So if you prefer English, you can use ‘eng’. On the other hand, if you prefer Hindi, you can use ‘HIN’. After sending this SMS, you will receive an SMS containing your EPF account balance.
It is worth noting that apart from supporting English and Hindi, the platform of EPFO supports eight more languages. These languages are Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali.
Check PF Account Balance Using Missed Call
If sending SMS is of great use to you, you can also give a missed call to check your EPF account balance. All you have to do is give a missed call on the number – 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number. After doing so, you will receive an SMS with your PF details.
Check PF account balance through EPFO website
Last but not least, you can also use the official web portal of EPFO to check your EPF account balance. Here’s what you have to do:
step 1: Log on to EPFO Portal.
step 2: Go to the ‘Our Services’ tab.
step 3: Select the option that says ‘For Employees’ from the drop-down menu.
step 4: Now, click on the option ‘Member Passbook’ under ‘Services’.
Step 5: Now you will see a login page. Enter your UAN number and password here.
Once you log in to your account, you will be able to access your EPF account and check your EPF account balance.
