Everyone likes a spotless, clean and dust-free house. But keeping the house clean and pristine all the time is not that easy. Keeping every corner of the house mess free requires some degree of dedication and of course the right set of tools. The traditional brooms and mops used in our homes clean the place, but they are not efficient enough when it comes to removing every microscopic particle of dirt, which is especially important If you have people who are allergic to dust or people who are obsessive cleaners at home. Enter: the Dyson V15 figure vacuum cleaner.
Dyson is a brand best known for its handheld, cord-free vacuum cleaners. In the past, the company has launched V10 Absolute, V11 Absolute Pro, V12 Detect Slim vacuum cleaners in India to name a few. More recently, the company launched the Dyson V15 Detect vacuum cleaner in India at a price of Rs 62,900, making it one of the costliest handheld vacuum cleaners currently available in the country.
The Dyson V15 Detect vacuum cleaner has the same laser-blaster design we’ve grown accustomed to seeing on some of the company’s older vacuum cleaners, such as the V11 Absolute Pro or the Absolute V12 Detect Slim. But it does feature some upgrades over its predecessors. Dyson says that the Dyson V15 Detect vacuum cleaner offers 1.5 times more suction and 54 percent more bin capacity than the Dyson V12 Detect Slim vacuum cleaner. It comes with a new laser technology that reveals dust particles that are otherwise invisible to the naked eye, and counts the ones that suck it up.
While all this sounds quite fancy, the real question is, does the Dyson V15 Detect Vacuum Cleaner deliver what it claims – a fuss-free cleaning experience and a dust-free home? We’ll talk about this more in our in-depth review below. So, keep on reading.
Dyson V15 Detect design: Looks familiar
If you’ve seen or used a Dyson vacuum cleaner before, you won’t find any significant differences, at least in design. It has the same laser blaster design that we’ve seen on older Dyson vacuum cleaner models. The main body houses a digital display at the rear that displays the mode selection. You can choose between Eco, Auto and Boost modes. It also displays the battery level and the amount of dust that this vacuum cleaner has absorbed. The display sits near air vents that project air that has been cleaned using a HEPA filter – a feature that was also present in the V11 Absolute Pro. In doing so, this vacuum cleaner ensures that it does not spread dust from one end or pollute the indoor air while cleaning the floor.
The display and air purification head are attached to a 0.75L bin that houses the digital motor that powers the V15 Detect vacuum cleaner. Together this unit – without any other attachments – weighs around 3.1kgs, which makes it a bit heavier than some of the older vacuum cleaner models I’ve used. However, this may not matter when you’re cleaning hard floors or a surface that doesn’t require you to lift the vacuum cleaner against the force of gravity, for example a hard-to-reach part of your cupboard. While cleaning the area or cleaning cobwebs from the corner of the ceiling. But in situations where you need to pick up the vacuum cleaner, cleaning for long periods of time can be a bit tiring. Periodically while cleaning my house during a cleaning session, I had to take breaks after every 10-15 minutes as the weight of the entire unit was resting on the cleaning attachment.
As far as the attachments are concerned, Dyson hasn’t made any changes to the mechanism for holding or opening the attachments. The mechanism has always been easy to use and efficient, whether it’s on older Dyson vacuum cleaners or the new V15 Detect. Another feature that has remained unchanged is the push-to-eject mechanism used to empty the bin. The feature works flawlessly in the case of the Dyson V15 Detect as well. Although I believe that the dirt-disposal mechanism is once such that this vacuum cleaner disperses the dirt while cleaning it.
Dyson V15 detects performance: Cleans very well
The Dyson V15 Detect vacuum cleaner is powered by the Dyson Hyperdymium digital motor, which the company says spins at up to 125,000rpm and generates up to 240 air watts of suction to suck up microscopic dust and larger debris. It’s a mild upgrade over the motor used in the Dyson V11 Absolute Pro that spins up to 125,000rpm and generates 185AW suction power. This motor is the heart of the Dyson V15 Detect vacuum cleaner and ensures that this vacuum cleaner works like it always does.
Details aside, the Dyson V15 Detect vacuum cleaner does a good job of cleaning your home, no matter what type of surface or mess you’re dealing with.
The vacuum cleaner comes with a total of eight attachments that are designed to meet different cleaning situations. Some are good for cleaning carpets and mattresses, while others are good for cleaning hard floors from hair. There is a batch of accessories that are particularly good for cleaning hard-to-reach areas or small surfaces. The highlight of this bar is an attachment capable of cleaning microscopic dust particles. It has an acoustic piezo sensor that tells the amount and type of dust particles on the LCD. The attachment essentially projects green laser light onto the floor, or surface you’re cleaning, and the area with the highest density of green light is the area you need to clean again Is. This feature can come in especially handy if you have people in your home who are allergic to dust. That said I could not independently verify the readings of the dirtiness by the vacuum cleaner.
Elsewhere, I cleaned everything in my home from sofas to carpets, and I was impressed with the results. Both the sofa and the carpet were clearly visible. I also used the V15 Detect to clean the kitchen floor every evening after preparing dinner, which, you know, can be a chore at the end of the day but the vacuum cleaner made things a lot easier and easier for me. made fast
Dyson V15 Detect Battery: Lasts a Long Time
Talking about battery life, Dyson claims that the V15 Detect vacuum cleaner offers up to 60 minutes of run-time, but it depends on the mode in which you are using the vacuum cleaner. If you are using a vacuum cleaner for light cleaning. In Eco mode, the vacuum cleaner will easily run for around 50-55 minutes. In Auto mode, when the vacuum cleaner intelligently selects the cleaning mode based on the dirt, it will run for around 30-40 minutes and in Boost mode, expect a run time of 15 minutes. However, if you go for a mix of boost and auto, which is what I did when cleaning my carpet and sofa, you can expect the battery to last around 20-25 minutes.
Sadly, it takes about three to four hours for the battery to fully charge. But the good news is that it comes with a swappable battery, which means you can have a spare battery and use it when you need it during extended cleaning sessions.
Dyson V15 Detect: Should you buy it or not?
Now, the million-dollar question, should you buy the Dyson V15 Detect Vacuum Cleaner or not. Well, it’s not an easy question to answer if you have to spend around 63 grand. But the truth is that the Dyson V15 Detect is a genius vacuum cleaner that is capable of removing even microscopic dust from your home. It has all the right attachments that you could need to keep your home clean. And while the battery can be a bit of a letdown, especially for those with a large home, you can always invest in a spare battery pack.
However, if the price tag is a big concern for you and you want something similar but with a lower price tag, the Dyson V12 Detect Slim, which retails in India for Rs 47,900, is worth a look.
