MediaTek has recently ruled the end of the 5G smartphone market with the help of Dimensity 800U and Dimensity 900 chips. Today, the company announced the successor to these chips. The Dimension 810 and Dimension 900 chips are available for midrange as well as premium 5G smartphones. MediaTek has not yet announced the names of its partners using this chip although it is clear that the launches will take place in Q21 2021.
Like its predecessors, the new Dimension chip supports 5G networks in both SIM slots and the Dimension 920 chip will have Wi-Fi 6 support. “Through the expanded Dimension chipset series, MediaTek is delivering the latest innovations to device makers and smartphone users at more affordable price points for the mainstream market,” said Dr. JJC Hussu, Corporate VP and GM of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit. “By increasing performance, intelligence and image brightness, this new Dimension chipset will enhance the user experience and provide enhanced 5G features and capabilities to 5G smartphones,” he added.
