COVID-19 Vaccination for Children Begins Today: Here’s How to Register on CoWIN App


Preparations for corona vaccination of children have intensified in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently announced the vaccination of 15 to 18 year olds of the group. This vaccination is to start from January 3, 2022. The registration will start from January 1, 2022.

In view of the spurt in the cases of the new variant of the corona, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 December announced three important decisions in the fight against corona, which includes starting vaccination for children aged 15-18 years from January. Apart from this, making another big announcement, the PM had said that from January 10, a booster dose will be started for the elderly, health workers and frontline workers above 60 years of age.

For the vaccination of 15-18 age group, the facility of online registration on Kovid portal has started from 1st January. At the same time, during the vaccination starting from January 3, the vaccine can also be vaccinated through walk-in. Immunization sessions will be conducted on priority basis at secondary and senior secondary level. As per the guidelines of the Government of India, adolescent boys and girls aged 15 to 18 years will be given only two doses of co-vaccine spaced 28 days apart.

If we look at the speed of corona growing rapidly in the country, then vaccination is considered very important for this age group. According to the data released on Friday, 16,764 new cases of corona were registered during the last 24 hours across the country. There was a jump of 27.4 percent in corona cases compared to the previous day. Apart from this, the Union Health Ministry said that the cases of Omicron variants in the country have increased to 1270. Delhi and Mumbai are most affected by Omicron.

STEP1: For this, first you have to go to the coin platform.

STEP2: Here, you have to mention your child’s information including name and age.

STEP3: After this, the Aadhaar or 10th class I card of the children will have to be given.

STEP4: After this the process can be completed quickly.

Parents can book vaccination slots through smartphone, laptop and PC through online process. Both doses of the Kovid-19 vaccine have been given to 61 percent of the adult population in the country, while the first dose has been given to 90 percent of the adult population. The government believes that vaccination of 15-18 year olds has the potential to help normalize education in schools.
