Captain America Chris Evans bids goodbye to his iPhone 6s with heartfelt tribute

We are all creatures of habits. While some cling to old worn-out shirts or faded denims in the old fashioned way, some hold on to their old iPhones a little longer than they should. And as it turns out, even the mighty Captain America aka Chris Evans isn’t untouched by this worldly habit of clinging to the old and familiar.

Evans recently shared a post on his official Instagram handle in which he bid to upgrade his old iPhone 6s to a newer iPhone model. “RIP iPhone 6s…we did well. I will miss your home button,” wrote Evans in a post paying a touching tribute to the seven-year-old device.

While Cap admits to missing his iPhone 6s, he also talks about the things he won’t leave in his old and now retired iPhone. “I will never miss the fight night of trying to charge you. Or your grainy photos. Or your sudden 100% battery dropping to 15%, completely dead within minutes,” he wrote in the post.

“It was a wild ride. Relax, mate,” he said.

Notably, Evans’ iPhone 6s supports the latest version of iOS. However, that will change in the fall this year when Apple releases iOS 16 (along with the iPhone 14) as it won’t support older iPhone models. The list includes the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Thankfully, Captain America seems to be upgrading to the latest iPhone model available in the market right now, i.e. iPhone 13, which will support iOS 16 and newer iOS versions in the coming years. This will change a few months from now when Apple launches the iPhone 14 series. But don’t expect this to bother Steve Rogers, given his upgrade habits. For all we know, we may see a similar post seven years after that when he is upgrading to the iPhone 20. Until then, we mundane people will balk at the upcoming iPhone models in the years to come.
