BSNL Rs 797 recharge plan introduced with 2GB daily data, 395 days validity

State-owned telecom company BSNL has introduced a new recharge pack for its customers. The new Rs 797 prepaid plan comes with a validity period of 395 days.

It is basically a voucher plan that offers daily data benefits, unlimited calling and SMS benefits just like the regular prepaid pack. However, the plan comes with some limitations which we will explain in the following section:

As mentioned, the operator’s new prepaid pack has a validity of 395 days. BSNL has announced an additional 30 days validity under the launch offer.

Talking about the caveat, the subscribers will get all the benefits for the first 60 days. After the 60th day, looking at the voucher pack, one has to opt for talk time or data plan to make calls or browse the internet.

As far as benefits are concerned, BSNL’s Rs 797 recharge pack offers 2GB daily data, unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS benefits per day for the first 60 days. After the 60th day, the daily data speed will be reduced to 80kbps. Interested users can visit the official recharge portal of BSNL or download the BSNL Self Care Application.

On a related note, BSNL is said to introduce commercial 4G services and its 5G network in non-standalone (NSA) mode on August 15, 2022. Rajkumar Upadhyay, Executive Director and Chairman, Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT). It was recently quoted at an industry event that BSNL is having a ‘Conducting Proof of Concept (PoC)’ for 4G network and is testing 5G as well.

Talking about 5G trials, major telecom operators like Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vi (Vodafone Idea) are already working on 5G roll out. If reports are to be believed, these telcos may bring 5G connectivity to their user base by the end of this year.
