Bounce Infinity plans to expand its battery swapping facility to electric scooters. The company is partnering with Greaves Cotton to set up more swapping stations for Geeves Electric Vehicles. The move will lead to increased standardization of batteries and hence more options available to electric vehicle owners.
Greaves Retail is the first company to adopt the Bounce Infinity battery-swapping network. The company has identified Bengaluru as the pilot city for this project. The company plans to target a total of 10 cities in India and set up 300 swapping stations in each.
This will help Greaves Retail to provide better end-to-end connectivity. The battery swapping service will be available for both electric 2-wheelers including Ampere electric scooters and 3-wheelers (B2B and B2C segments). According to a statement from Bounce, all popular models of Ampere may soon be available to customers with BAAS. BGR.in confirmed to Bounce that these swapping stations will also accommodate the Infinity E1 scooter.
The battery swapping solution will be available at large scale locations like residential complexes, petrol pump stations, restaurants, cafes, co-living spaces, corporate offices, kirana stores etc. These stations will operate electric vehicles manufactured by Greaves. The Bounce Infinity Swapping Stations will have charged and ready-to-go batteries for Greaves retail customers.
According to Bounce, the integration with the Greaves electric scooter has already been completed and will be made available for other models of the Greaves soon.
