Bajaj Avenger 220 EV Conversion Kit Launched: Will Make Your Avenger a Hybrid

To date, we’ve seen many EV conversion kits for internal combustion engine-powered vehicles. GoGoA1, which has already launched an EV conversion kit for the Splendor, has now come up with a similar kit for the Bajaj Avenger 220. The kit includes a complete set of EV components to convert the bike into an electric vehicle. The kit is currently available through the company’s official website.

The GoGoA1 EV Conversion Kit for the Avenger 220 is a hybrid conversion kit, which means you can ride the bike on both electric and petrol switching whenever you want. This hybrid dual-powertrain nature of the GoGoA1 conversion kit makes it a very interesting proposition for Bajaj Avenger 220 owners and gives it an upper hand over the overall conversion kit.

The GoGoA1 Avenger 220 EV Conversation Kit is priced at Rs 27,760. At present, it is not known whether the kit is RTO approved or not.

The kit includes a 2kW, 17-inch brushless hub motor, a regenerative controller, a wrist throttle, a disc with catcher, mounting plate, and a coupler. This is a DIY (Do It Yourself) kit (as seen in the video embedded above). However, we feel that the conversion task is very extensive and complex, so it is recommended that you seek professional help for the job.

According to the video, to integrate the GoGoA1 conversion kit, you’ll first need to start by replacing the front wheel with all the mountings and necessary mechanical work. The motor connects directly to the wheel with a housing to connect to the battery pack, clutch and brake.

The battery pack is fitted with the fenders at the back in place of the side panniers. The battery pack houses a 72V, 35A lithium-ion pack. With minor modifications the controller is added to the bike’s built-in electrical system.

GoGoA1 claims that its conversion kit can provide users with a ride range of up to 50 km on a full charge, with a top speed of up to 60 kmph.

After the conversion is complete, the bike then switches to a two-wheel-drive setup, wherein the rear wheel is powered by an ICE engine and the front wheel is powered by an electric engine.
