Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday unveiled the “EVX” concept electric SUV at the Auto Expo 2023, powered by a 60kWh battery pack, offering a driving range of up to 550 km. Inspired by the ’emotionally versatile cruiser’ – the Concept EVX is a mid-size electric SUV. The concept has been designed and developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan.
The vehicle in general measures 4,300mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,600mm in height. The concept SUV features high ground clearance, rugged cladding on the exterior body and a lot more.
“Today, I have an exciting announcement. I am delighted to unveil the Concept EVX, our first global strategic EV. We plan to bring it to market by 2025. At Suzuki Group, addressing global warming priority. We are promoting a number of global measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by our business. One key measure is reducing the CO2 emitted by using our products. Here in India, as of March last year was announced, we will invest 100 billion rupees in the production of BEVs and their batteries,” said Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President, Suzuki Motor Corporation, commenting on the global premiere of the concept electric SUV EVX.
Speaking on the unveiling, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. said, “For over 4 decades, Maruti Suzuki has been spreading the joy of mobility in India and fulfilling the aspirations of millions of Indian families. The Concept EVX is Suzuki’s first global strategic electric vehicle, and I’m excited it’s debuting here in India. It brings exciting urban SUV styling through its sharp design language and purposefully reinforces our commitment to environmental friendliness and sustainability as a battery electric vehicle.
Maruti Suzuki also showcased its range of “sustainable” cars at the expo such as the WagonR flex fuel prototype, the Brezza S-CNG and the Grand Vitara Intelligent Electric Hybrid.
