Apple has officially announced the dates for its annual developers conference, WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) 2023. The five-day program will begin on June 5, 2023, and go on till June 9, 2023.

The event will be held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California and will begin with a keynote speech by Apple CEO Tim Cook, followed by State of the Union presentations. Apple will also be streaming the event online for developers who were unable to attend the in-person event this year.

“WWDC23 is going to be our biggest and most exciting yet, and we can’t wait to see many of you online and in person at this special event,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s Worldwide Developer Relations Vice President said on the occasion.

Apple says that along with announcements shared from the keynote and State of the Union presentations, this year’s online event will include sessions, one-on-one labs, and opportunities to engage with Apple engineers and other developers. Developers and students will have the opportunity to participate in a special day at Apple Park on June 5th to witness a keynote speaker and State of the Union with the global online community.

“With the help of Swift Playgrounds – a revolutionary app for iPad and Mac that makes learning the Swift programming language interactive and fun – students around the world are invited to create an App Playground on a topic of their choice. This year’s Submissions to the challenge are now open, and students can submit their work until April 19,” Apple said in a blog post today.

What to expect from WWDC 2023?

As is customary, at the upcoming event, Apple will share updates for its family of operating systems, which includes iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. That means you’ll hear about the biggest and most important features coming to iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10, and tvOS 17.

Apart from this, Apple may also announce its much-anticipated virtual-reality (VR) headset at the event. Although the actual launch may happen much later. If the reports are correct, this will not be the first time that Apple will introduce a new product at its annual developers conference. The company first showcased its original HomePod at WWDC 2017. Its sales started in February 2018. Apple may do something similar in the case of its alleged VR headset. However, we will have to wait for the event to know more about it.
