Apple has reportedly delayed its 27-inch outdoor display with Mini-LED backlighting. Earlier the display was expected to be launched in the first quarter of this year.
Display industry analyst Ross Young told MacRumours that he hasn’t seen any signs that the display is entering mass production, which indicates that the launch isn’t going to happen anytime soon. It is worth noting that the launch date of the display has been postponed several times before. Young first revealed that the iPhone maker will launch its 27-inch display around June 2022. Shortly after this, the analyst suggested an October 2022 launch date for the display. More recently, he predicted that the company would launch a 27-inch monitor in the first quarter of 2023. Now, the analyst has updated his prediction again, only this time, he hasn’t given a fresh timeline of the launch.
Apple’s 27-inch display with Mini-LED expected specifications
As far as the details are concerned, Apple’s upcoming 27-inch display is the next-generation version of the Studio Display. However, according to some reports, it could also be a new model designed between the Studio Display and the high-end Pro Display XDR.
Coming to the specifications, the 27-inch display is expected to come with a mini-LED panel as opposed to the LCD panel used by the company’s Studio Display. Support for the company’s ProMotion technology is also expected, which means it will support a more dynamic screen refresh rate of 120Hz or more.
Furthermore, the report states that the company’s upcoming display may come with 7K resolution with a pixel density of 245 PPI, which is higher than the pixel density of 218 PPI offered by the company’s Pro Display XDR which is 32-inch. Comes with K display and 6K display. Resolution. If the reports are correct, the upcoming 27-inch display could pack a screen with better 7K resolution in a smaller 27-inch body.
At the moment, Apple offers the Apple Studio which comes with a 27-inch display with 5K resolution. It starts from Rs 159,900 for the standard glass variant. The Pro Display XDR, on the other hand, comes with a 32-inch display with 6K resolution and starts at Rs 4,49,900 in India. It’s hard to understand where this display will fit into Apple’s line-up, given that it’s likely to be a close cousin of the Pro Display with these specifications, yet cost a lot more than that.
