Have you noticed or not? Apple Showing you ads in the App Store. Although ads have so far been limited to the Search tab and search results, now, it appears that Apple is asked to show more ads in other sections of the App Store.
You will now see more ads in the App Store on iPhone
According to multiple sources, Apple will start showing more ads in the App Store. Reportedly, two new ad placements have been finalized and will appear in the Today tab and on separate pages of the App Store. Just like the search bar and search results, these ads will be clearly visible.
An ad will be highlighted in light blue and have “advertisement” written on it. While in the Today tab you’ll see direct ads, in individual pages, you’ll see ads under the “You might also like” section.
The good thing is that you won’t see any ads that the ad buyer wants to show, but instead ads from user-relevant and App Store-approved pages. So less spam and more quality ads, hopefully.
“Apple Search Ads provides developers of all sizes with opportunities to grow their business,” Apple told MacRumors, 9to5Mac and AppleInsider.
“Like our other ad offerings, these new ad placements are built on the same foundation – they will only contain content from approved App Store pages for apps, and will adhere to the same rigorous privacy standards.”
Apple has yet to start showing these additional ads in the App Store. The company plans to start testing the new ads soon. We can expect them to arrive in the coming weeks.
To recall, Apple began showing ads in the App Store in 2016. With the new ad placements, it appears that Apple is planning to squeeze more cash in the name of personalized recommendations.
Apple will soon start showing ads in the Today tab of the App Store, which first appeared on BGR India.
